ESAB Sentinel A60 Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet

The ESAB Sentinel A60 gives professional welders a wide, clear view of the job with precise digital control over the auto-darkening lens. Its 118 × 71 mm viewing area, 1/1/1/1 optical classification and ESAB OpTCS™ True Color technology help you see the arc, weld pool and surrounding work area more naturally.

This premium auto-darkening welding helmet is built for MIG/MAG, TIG, Stick/MMA, plasma welding, plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting and grinding. Four arc sensors, adjustable sensitivity and delay, nine programmable memory positions and an external grind button make it practical for fabrication shops, site work and mixed-process welding.

Clearer view of the weld

Controls designed for the workshop floor

The internal digital control panel uses a bright dual-colour LED display and spaced push buttons designed for use with welding gloves. Adjust welding shade from DIN 5–13, shade in 0.5-step increments, arc sensitivity, dark-to-light delay across five settings from approximately 0.1 to 0.9 seconds, nine memory positions, grind mode and Shade Lock.

Each memory position can store a combination of shade, sensitivity and delay settings—useful when moving between different welding processes, materials or amperage ranges. Warning lights indicate active grind mode, low battery and Shade Lock.

External grind mode and Shade Lock

Press and hold the external GRIND button for two seconds to switch the lens to fixed DIN 3 grind mode. Press and hold it again to return to the previous welding-shade setting. This allows you to move between welding and grinding without removing the helmet to change the internal controls. Do not weld while grind mode is active.

Shade Lock overrides normal auto-darkening operation and keeps the ADF at the selected shade from DIN 5–13 until Shade Lock is switched off.

Balanced HALO™ headgear

The adjustable ESAB HALO™ headgear is designed to spread the helmet's weight across the head. Adjust the headband circumference, top-strap height, helmet viewing angle and distance between the auto-darkening filter and your face. The rounded, low-profile shell also provides better clearance when welding in restricted spaces.

Important safety information

Read and understand the supplied ESAB safety manual before use and select the correct shade for the welding or cutting process. The Sentinel A60 is not suitable for laser welding and does not replace approved safety glasses with side shields or any other PPE required for the job.

Inspect the helmet, cover lenses, auto-darkening filter and headgear before every use. Stop welding immediately if the lens does not darken when an arc is struck.
